Recruiting begins each September with a welcome home party for the previous summer's volunteers, followed by a family information meeting in October. Training begins in November of each year and continues through June of the following year. Most training sessions take place on Sunday in Washington, DC. The Washington DC Chapter Board meets monthly except for July and August.
Most DC AMIGOS events are held at the Oyster Bilingual School at 2801 Calvert St. NW in Washington. See the map at the bottom of this page for more information.

Directions to the Oyster Bilingual School
The Oyster School is on the corner of 29th and Calvert St. NW, two blocks west of the Woodley Park Zoo metro station on the Red Line and one block west of the Shoreham Hotel at Connecticut Avenue and Calvert Street. There is garage parking underneath the school with entrance from Calvert St and also limited street parking.
