Greetings, prospective Volunteers!
We're thrilled that you're interested in becoming an AMIGOS Volunteer for 2008. To apply, you must be 16 years old and have had two years of Spanish language training (or equivalent) by summer 2008.
Below you'll find the four steps it takes to become an AMIGOS Volunteer with the Washington, DC Chapter:
- Attend our Orientation Meeting on Sunday October 14, 2007.
Becoming a 2008 Washington, DC AMIGOS Volunteer begins with an orientation meeting for parents and students on October 14, 2007 and is followed by a training program that begins in November and ends in May 2008. (See the chapter's calendar for more information.)
- Complete a DC Chapter Preliminary Application.
This brief form (available here as a PDF or here as a Word document) and a $25 non refundable application fee can be submitted at the Orientation Meeting or mailed to Susan Davis at 1202 Hemlock St. NW, Washington, DC 20012.
- Attend the Applicant and Parent Interview Day on October 28, 2007.
This meeting is an essential part of the process. Prospective Volunteers who apply by October 25, 2007 will be scheduled to come with their parents for individual interviews on between 12:00pm and 5:00pm at the Oyster School. (See the chapter's calendar for more information.)
- Complete the second and final application online.
